WELCOME to BSA Troop 274
Welcome to the Home Page for BSA Troop 274. We are part of the Mount Tahoma District in the Pacific Harbors Council. We are proud to be chartered by the Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years. We meet at their church on 8401 112th St E., Puyallup, WA 98373 every Tuesday night at 7 to 8:30 PM. We are currently 45 scouts / 5 patrols strong.
The Boy Scout model is to be "Boy Led / Adult Guided". Here, the Scouts are in charge and make the decisions about weekly/monthly agendas and choosing our monthly camping destinations. Adult leaders provide an environment that allows boys to experience what it means to be a "boy scout". Our Troop likes many different activities especially the Rifle and Shotgun shooting on an annual event.
"The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society."
Boy Scouts were built on the service model that is why we have partnered with Pierce County Parks to conduct service projects while learning from their experts.
If this sounds like something you (or your son) would be interested in for yourselves, PLEASE feel free to stop by and visit us any Tuesday night at 7 PM. If you have any questions about Scouting or the way this troop operates, please check us out or drop us an email.
