Rev-Gary-Mathiesen

Rev. Gary E. Mathiesen, Pastor

Gary has served as pastor at Shepherd of the Hill since 1991. Prior to Puyallup, Gary was Associate Pastor (Youth & Family) for seven years at First Presbyterian Church, Moscow, Idaho. Gary Mathiesen received his M.Div. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has been married for 30+ years to Mary, has two grown daughters, a son-in-law and two adorable and wonderful granddaughters. Gary enjoys travel (with Italy being his favorite destination), a relaxing meal with family and friends (especially on the deck in the back yard), a Mariner’s game on a warm summer evening, a ride on a Washington State ferry, long walks and an evening at a concert or play.

Rev. Mathiesen will be retiring in October 2017.  We are currently in the process of looking for a transitional pastor.
