Faith in Action Weekend
September 29 & 30
Don't Just Go to Church - Be the Church!
FAITH IN ACTION is a church wide focus on biblical compassion, service, and sharing Christ’s love with others in need. Stop by the display on Sunday to sign up for projects (see below) and to get more information.
NOTE: There will be NO regular Sunday morning activities at the church on September 30 while we participate in our Faith in Action weekend projects. A Celebration Dinner and service will be held that evening in the fellowship hall.
Saturday, September 29
Serve Our Homeless Neighbors -- 8:30-10:30am
Make cookies and assemble comfort bags to be taken to New Hope Resource Center. This project is especially geared toward kids, but adults are welcome to participate.
Northwest Furniture Bank -- 9:00am-12:00pm
Assemble furniture donated by IKEA for families in need. Minimum age 14.
Mother Earth Farm -- 9:00am-12:00pm
Do weeding and harvesting at the farm, which provides fruit and vegetables and herbs to Pierce County food banks and meal sites.
New Hope Resource Center -- 9:00am-2:00pm
Make lunches at the church. Serve lunch at New Hope and deliver comfort bags.
St. Francis House -- 10:00am – 2:00pm
Stock shelves and racks with fall/winter clothing.
Sunday, September 30
Yard Work for Members -- 9:00am – finish
Do general yard work for some of our SOTH friends. (two crews)
Quilts, Quilts, Quilts 9:00am – 2:00pm
Tie fleece quilts for Helping Hand House to give to homeless families and/or make quilt tops from kits for From the Heart to give to children in need. No sewing skill required. Come for all or part of the time.
FIA Celebration Dinner approximately 4:00–6:00pm (exact time TBD)
Help prepare and serve our celebration dinner.
Dinner Set-Up -- 5:00pm
Set up the fellowship hall for our Celebration Dinner and Worship.
Dinner Clean-Up -- 7:00pm
Clean up dishes and kitchen after dinner.
