Welcome to Shepherd of the Hill!
Due to current social distancing restrictions, we are not currently gathering together in the church building, but are still finding ways to gather together spiritually as the body of Christ. At this time, we are expected to not have activities in the building until ways to do so are safe.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We trust the information within these pages will give you insight into the worship, mission, and fellowship objectives of our congregation and denomination.
The people of SOTH enjoy being together. As you sit with us in worship, you will notice a wide cross-section of ages. We worship around the breakfast table as well as in the pew. Our music reflects a broad variety of musical interests and abilities. The children and youth often assist in worship. We enjoy times of celebration as well as times for silence. The preaching of the Word is important as well as the prayers shared among the people.
Serving Christ in our community is an integral part of our identity. We set up cots and prepare meals for the overnight stay of our homeless friends. Many of us stand behind the kitchen counter to serve lunch and dinner to those who are hungry. We have weeded gardens, repaired and painted homes, given money to victims of natural disasters, collected food donations, supported fair trade in other countries by our purchases and stood in support of the homeless.
Sharing our experience in Christ in daily life comes naturally to this congregation. Friendships are forged over a cup of coffee, laughter is shared at our annual picnic, food is eagerly brought to our frequent potluck meal events, conversations of scripture are exchanged in the various weekly small groups and encouragement is given to those who are going through a difficult time.
Regardless of your experience of Christ or your history with the church, come be with us in worship, mission, or fellowship. We would love to have you.
